Carbonitro is a large Pokémon based on dry ice. It has four legs with four feet that have three toes each, a huge round abdomen with two pieces of dry ice on either side on top. Its face has two black sclerae with orange irises and black pupils. Some of the dry ice on its back also has evaporating carbon from it, and there's liquid inside its body. The color of its body and the liquid inside depends on its Form; its Standard Form has a cyan body and pale indigo body liquid, while the Heat Form has a white body with orange body liquid.

Prior to Generation 8 being released, Carbonix and Carbonitro were the only Pokémon to have the Fire/Ice dual typing. However, Zen Mode Galarian Darmanitan is also Fire/Ice-type.
Coincidentally, Carbonix, Carbonitro and Darmanitan (generally) all have a Standard Form.
Strangely, both forms of Carbonitro have the same Shiny.
This oddity applies to Carbonix, as well.
