Cobolta is a dual-type Poison/Electric Pokémon.

It evolves from Snazap starting at level 27.

Biology

Physiology

Cobolta is a large cobra, hence part of its name. Its body is mainly yellow, with large electric blue lightning bolt-shaped tails. It has an intimidating look in its eyes, which have electric blue irises and black pupils, while the outer parts of its eyes are white. It has 5 large white spots along its body, all of them having an electric blue outer ring, with an additional sixth one on its forehead. It has a hood-like protrusion on its neck that is white and electric blue.

Gender Differences

None.

Special abilities

When Cobolta chases underground prey, it uses slits within its neck flaps to blow air and to knock away dirt and dust that may manipulate its electricity, which it uses to change the patterns on its body. This is mostly for intimidation, but they also use it during mating seasons. It uses both x-ray and heat vision to seek its prey, and uses radiation to temporary incapacitate its prey's skeletal and muscular conditions, thus slowing it down, before delivering its paralyzing bite.

Behavior

Unlike Snazap, Cobolta are much more aggressive. They signal foes to back away by rattling their tails to send electric volts around themselves and hissing. They use the electricity mostly for intimidation, though they also use it during mating seasons.

Habitat

Cobolta live in tall grass. Wild Cobolta are found in the Tropic Cave.

Shiny Coloration Differences

For Shiny Cobolta, the yellow body turns purple, while the electric blue turns orange.

Pokédex entries

Pokédex entry
Cobolta can change the patterns on its body by directing the electrical current in its body. This is mostly for intimidation, though it sees use during mating seasons as well.
