Dive is a Water-type physical move that deals damage. It is HM06 and can be bought in Greenpine City. It's functionality may be replaced by the Snorkel, which is obtained in Sario Town.

Effect

In Battle

On the first turn, the user will dive down for one turn and become invulnerable to most attacks, with the exception of Surf and Whirlpool, which will do twice the damage to the submerged Pokémon. The user can also be hit underwater if it was previously targeted by Lock-On or Mind ReaderSandstorm and Hail will not cause damage during the semi-invulnerable turn.

Pokémon can no longer be caught during the semi-invulnerable stage of Dive.

The user may be hit while underwater if it is attacked by a Pokémon with No Guard, or if the user has No Guard themselves.

Outside of battle

Dive is considered a HM move even if it is learned by levelup or the newly caught Pokémon already knows it. It can only be forgotten by the move deleter in Goldune City.

It can also be used for diving in deeper parts of water areas, even if the player does not have the Snorkle.

Description

Description
