Dodont is a dual-type Ground/Flying Pokémon.

It is not known to Evolve into or from any other Pokémon.

Biology

Physiology

Dodont is a Pokémon based on a dodo, an extinct species of flightless birds. They have sandy brown bodies, with tail feathers that are a cyan sort of color. Their beaks are large and sharp and are yellow in color and black on the tip. Its belly is white, and its ruffled neck collar is split into white and cyan, respectively. They also have oval-shaped white eyes, with pinprick black dots for pupils.

Gender Differences

None.

Special Abilities

Dodont, which were believed to be extinct until they were rediscovered in the Rikoto region, have the ability to use their sharp beaks to peck opponents. They also use this to get berries for them to eat. Strangely, they have the ability to create earthquakes when they bang their beaks to the ground, a maneuver used to compete over mates with rival Dodont, to scare unwanted guests off territory, and to trample running prey without touching them. However, they are incredibly ignorant in comparison to other Pokémon.

Behavior

Dodont are incredibly ignorant Pokémon. They were once believed to be extinct after the known final few jumped purposely off of cliffs. Apparently, they managed to survive without any injuries at all, and around 60 years later, they were re-discovered. The reason they jump of cliffs is thought to be a game to show brawn to other Dodont, socially.

Habitat

Dodont were originally thought to be extinct, live in rocky valleys, were they propel themselves off cliffs only to find they landed perfectly fine. Wild Dodont are found in Fallrock Valley; they're more common in Headbutt Trees than in the grass.

Shiny Coloration Differences

For Shiny Dodont, the body turns a tan color, the cyan feathers turn orange, and the beak is a slightly lighter yellow.
