Flame Body (ability)

Contact with the Pokémon may burn the attacker.

Flame Body is an ability introduced in Generation 3. So far, 11 Pokémon have this ability.

Effect

In battle

Moves that make contact with the Pokémon have a 30% chance to burn the enemy.

If a Pokémon with this Ability is hit by a multi-strike move that makes contact (such as Fury Swipes), each hit is counted as an independent chance to burn the enemy.

Outside of battle

If there is a Pokémon with Flame Body in the party, the number of steps needed to hatch eggs in the party becomes halved. This same effect can be reached using Magma Armor, but cannot stack.
