The Rikoto region is a fan-made region of the Pokémon world. It is the setting of the fan-game Pokémon Solar Light & Lunar Dark. It is far away from the seven other regions from the main games, and the Pokémon which inhabit Rikoto are diverse and very different from those of Kanto, Johto, Hoenn, Sinnoh, Unova, Kalos, Alola, Galar, and Paldea.

Etymology[]

Rikoto contains the word Rico, meaning "rich" in Spanish thus emphasizing on the richess and diversity of the Region.

History[]

The Rikoto Region was very late to develop itself economically and industrially compared to the other regions of the Pokémon world but is now the largest and one of the most advanced. In the past, it was hard for explorer to come back and forth and for the people to live here due to the stormy mid-ocean climate.

Unlike all the other regions, Rikoto has its own government. Despite its large size, the inhabitants refused to split its continent into multiple regions, that's the reason why it is so large and has so many cities and towns.

Due to its isolation from the others, Rikoto is the house of many differents species of Pokémon found nowhere else in the world and no Pokémon from others regions live here. It is impossible for Pokémon to migrate from one region to another.

Geography[]

Climate[]

The climate of Rikoto varies from place to place. It generally has a warm temperature with average rainfall. Some cities, such as Snopeak and Subhail, snow frequently while most of the cities rarely get snow. Some cities have very unusual weather, like Crestlight City wich is constantly rainy or foggy.

Rikoto League[]

The Rikoto League is somewhat different from that in other regions. While you must still challenge 8 gyms, as well as the Elite Four, there are other challengers that must also be defeated to win the League, such as those who are also taking on the challenge.

Rikoto also contains a League rule not found anywhere else: the two opponents can only use the same number of Pokemon, to ensure the battle is fairer. For instance, the first Gym Leader uses three Pokemon, therefore you can only use three Pokemon against her.
