Route 1 is the first route in Rikoto. It is connected between Soltree Town to the east and Mossy Town to the south.

Route Description

Route 1 is a small route lined with trees that features low-level Pokémon. It also has a tree that Headbutt can be used on as an additional method to encounter wild Pokemon. The player first ventures through Route 1 after obtaining their Starter Pokémon from Professor Pinewood. It is used to travel from  Soltree Town to Mossy Town. As a shortcut to go back, a ledge can be used to avoid walking through tall grass. This shortcut has another way to get to Soltree Town, but it requires the Surfboard to use it. You can find wild Water-type Pokemon by fishing and/or Surfing from the beach.

After going back to your mother to get the Running Shoes and the Pokégear, Professor Pinewood will be waiting here. He will give you 5 Pokéballs, which will allow you to catch wild Pokémon.
