Trivia

  • Prior to Version 1.0.1, Shrimpoon uses Carvanha's cry.
  • Shrimpoon was originally called Shrimpsea in earlier versions of the game.
  • Apparently, Shrimpoon was originally a Water/Bug-type, just like Shrimpet.
  • Shrimputy and Krilvolver, two Fakémon from Pokémon Uranium, are also based on pistil shrimp.
    • Coincidentally, all three of these are Water/Fire-types

Origin

Shrimpoon is based on a pistol shrimp. It's shiny's multiple colors makes it look somewhat like that of the Mantis Shrimp.

Name Origin

Shrimpoon's name comes from the words Shrimp and harpoon. Meanwhile, its old name, Shrimpsea, comes from the words Shrimp and sea.
