Biology

Physiology

Snuffuzz is a brown guinea pig Pokémon. It has light brown fur on the lower part of its body and most of its face. Its fur is so long that its front and back paws are concealed entirely. It has a small pink oval-shaped nose and black eyes with a pinprick white dot on each. There is cream colored fur above its nose and around the outer part of its head. The middle of its body also has cream colored fur, and there is fur that is a darker brown color on its back, with two extra tufts of light sandy brown fur on either side of its back a bit behind its head.

Habitat

Snuffuzz live in small groups with other Snuffuzz and Hamstar in large open areas, where they can dig holes and hide in tall grass. Wild Snuffuzz are found in the grass on Routes 5 and 19.

Shiny Coloration Differences

For Shiny Snuffuzz, the lighter brown turns teal, and the darker brown turns purple.

Trivia

• Prior to Version 1.0.1, Snuffuzz uses Metapod's cry.
• Snuffuzz is the Evolved form of Rikoto's early Route Normal-type rodent Pokémon, Hamstar.
• In almost all of its old designs, simply said, Snuffuzz looked a bit like a large Swinub. Over time, it looked decreasingly so, however.

Snuffuzz is likely based off of a Guinea Pig, hence its classification.

Name Origin

Snuffuzz's name comes from a combination of the words Snuff, snuggle, and fuzzy.
